Israel Responds to Turkiye’s Export Restriction with Plans for Countermeasures

Israeli Foreign Minister Katz announced that they will prepare a list of products whose exports will be restricted in response to Turkiye’s decision to restrict exports, and that they will call on the US Congress to restrict investment and imports.

A response came to Turkiye’s decision to restrict the export of some products to Israel. Israeli Foreign Minister Yisrael Katz announced that they will prepare a list of products whose exports to Turkiye will be blocked.

Claiming that Turkiye unilaterally violated trade agreements, Katz, in his post on his X account, also called on the US Congress to stop investments in Turkiye and prevent product imports from Turkiye.

“Erdogan is once again sacrificing the economic interests of the Turkish people for the sake of his support for Hamas murderers who rape, kill and desecrate the bodies of women, girls and adults in Gaza and burn children alive,” said Katz. He added saying, “Israel will not bow to violence and extortion, will not tolerate unilateral violations of trade agreements, and will take parallel measures against Turkiye that will harm the Turkish economy.”

Katz also announced that he “instructed to prepare a list for the products that Turkiye will be prevented from exporting and to contact organizations in the USA to stop investments in Turkiye and prevent product imports from Turkiye.”

“Congress will review violations of boycott laws and impose sanctions on Turkiye accordingly,” Katz said.
