Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (ITO) announced the products whose prices increased and decreased the most in September. The product that increased the most compared to the previous month was notebooks with 98.94%, while plums led the decline with 16.46%.
In order to ensure the transparency of the markets and inform the public, the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (ITO) announced the products with the highest and lowest retail prices in Istanbul in September compared to the previous month, along with their prices and change rates.
Accordingly, while the retail prices of 166 of the 242 products included in the ITO’s Istanbul Wage Earners Living Index increased, the prices of 15 products decreased, and no change was observed in 61 products.
Products with the highest prices
In September, compared to the previous month, the notebook in the “Culture, Education and Entertainment Expenditures Group” was the product whose price increased the most with 98.94%. The notebook was followed by school bags with 94.72%, court and attorney fees with 83.94%, school uniforms with 79.38%, course and private lesson fees with 67.46%, tracksuits with 55.60%, and children’s shoes with 48.70%.
Products with the highest price reductions
The product whose price decreased the most in September compared to the previous month was plum, which is in the “Food Expenditures Fresh and Dry Vegetables and Fruits Subgroup” with 16.46%.
Plum was followed by green pepper with 14.63%, green beans with 8.36%, onion with 7.08%, fresh grapes with 6.98%, towels with 5% and clothes with 4.76%.
