Minister of Industry and Technology Kacir stated that they support new generation technology investments in Turkiye and said, “Turkiye will be the address of many brands and manufacturers in their globalization journey in the coming period.”

In his statement, Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacir evaluated his visit to China, where he visited 8 different cities.

Stating that he visited GAC AION, Chery, Zeekr, BYD, SAIC, Fararis and Huawei companies operating in the automotive and battery production sector in China, Kacir pointed out that China is the pioneer of the transformation in the automotive sector.

Kacir stated that Chinese automotive companies are ahead of the world, especially in the field of innovative technologies, and noted that they have become able to export the electric vehicles they develop and produce to global markets.

Pointing out that new players will emerge in the automobile market in many countries in the coming period, Kacir said, “We are striving to turn especially the electric vehicle-oriented transformation into an opportunity for Turkiye. The most important step we took was to launch our national brand Togg. Just in time, Turkiye has made an important move to become one of the leading countries of the revolution.”

Kacir stated that Togg will deliver 20 thousand vehicles by the end of the year and that they will have kept their promise to the nation.

“We aim to make Turkiye a production center”

Kacir pointed out that they want to accelerate this transformation with Togg and new players in the coming period and continued as follows:

“Conversion to electric vehicles can bring versatile benefits for Turkiye. We attach importance to electric vehicle conversion for the carbon neutral targets of 2053. On the other hand, as a country that is an oil importer and has been able to increase the share of renewable energy in electricity production thanks to our investments in renewable energy, we foresee that the widespread use of electric vehicles will benefit our economy in the long term. We also value our nation’s access to the most innovative technologies, but beyond that, our ultimate goal is to make Turkiye a production center for new generation automobiles. In order to achieve this, we will continue to support Togg and, on the other hand, we will strive to attract new investments to our country.”

Kacir reminded that they met with the Farasis company during their visit to China and stated that the company will establish a battery cell production facility in Gemlik with Togg.

“They follow Turkiye closely”

Stating that they encourage and support new generation technology investments, Kacir said, “We shared these opportunities with our interlocutors. There is a very strong interest in Turkiye and our goal is to turn this interest into investment in the coming period and to take steps to enable these brands to invest in Turkiye. We strived for this during our visits. We saw that they also follow Turkiye very closely.”

Kacir emphasized that in the coming period, existing manufacturers in Turkiye will undergo a rapid transformation focusing on innovative technologies and new players will continue to invest in Turkiye.

Stating that these visits will accelerate future investments in Turkiye, Kacir said:

“We also visited Huawei, which carries out important projects in the field of smart transportation solutions in the mobility sector. The company has an R&D center in Turkiye. This center carries out important work. It was a source of pride to hear that many of the products and systems used by Huawei in its automotive solutions were developed at the R&D center in Turkiye. We will continue to strive for Turkiye to accelerate in this field and become a production base of innovative technologies. Turkiye will be the address for many brands and manufacturers in their globalization journey in the coming period.”
