Nigeria Ready to Cooperate with Turkiye on Border Security

Nigerian Minister of Internal Affairs, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, announced that he is ready to cooperate with Turkiye on border security.

Ankara Chamber of Commerce Board Member and Health Ankara Coordinator Assoc. Dr. Omer Caglar Yilmaz paid a courtesy visit to Minister of Internal Affairs Tunji-Ojo.

During this visit, Minister Tunji-Ojo emphasized that the Nigeria-Turkiye relationship will be mutually beneficial, including the exchange of ideas, technology and data transfer, which are vital for border security and said, “This is a productive relationship. We will take this very seriously and hope that we can use today as the basis for greater work in the future.”

Omer Caglar Yilmaz also thanked the Nigerian minister and confirmed their determination to strengthen bilateral relations between Turkiye and Nigeria in the fields of security, defense and aviation:

“I would like to express Turkiye’s interest in strengthening these ties and explore potential areas of cooperation such as technology transfer, joint ventures or training programs.”

Yilmaz also invited Tunji-Ojo to participate in the SEDEC 2024 Turkiye Homeland and Border Security Conference and Exhibition, which will be held in Ankara between 21-23 May 2024.
