While quotas were determined for the 2023-2024 marketing year in the Turkish sugar industry, the amount in the A quota was 2 million 910 thousand tons.
The Presidential Decision on the subject was published in the Official Gazette.
Accordingly, the country’s total A quota for the 2023-2024 marketing year was determined as 2 million 910 thousand tons. Beet sugar A quota was 2 million 837 thousand 250 tons, and B quota was 141 thousand 863 tons, which is 5%of this figure.
The starch-based sugar (SBS) quota was also determined as 72 thousand 750 tons, which corresponds to 2.5% of the country’s total A quota.
In addition, A and B quotas for beet sugar allocated to companies and quota amounts for NBS were also included in the Presidential Decision.
The decision, the provisions of which will be carried out by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, entered into force as of today.
