According to the price lists on the company’s website, Tesla reduced the starting price of Model 3 in China by 14,000 yuan (approximately $1,932) to 231,900 yuan (approximately $32,000).
Tesla also reduced the price of the rear-wheel-drive Model 3 in Germany from 42,990 euros to 40,990 euros.
In the USA, the company offered a $2,000 discount on the prices of Model Y, Model X, and Model S vehicles.
Reports in the US media stated that Tesla also implemented price cuts in many other countries in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.
Tesla’s sales had dropped for the first time since 2020 in the first quarter According to the vehicle production and delivery data for the first quarter of 2024 announced by Tesla in April, the company’s car deliveries decreased by 8.5% compared to the same period last year in the first quarter, marking the first annual decline since 2020.
While the number of vehicles delivered by Tesla in the first quarter of this year was 386,810, this figure was significantly below the market expectations of around 450,000. The company had delivered 422,875 vehicles in the same period last year.
