THY adds Melbourne, Australia to its flight network

Turkish Airlines (THY), the airline company that flies to the most countries in the world, will operate 3 flights a week to Melbourne, Australia, as of March 15.

According to the statement made by the THY Press Consultancy, THY, which has reached 129 countries and 345 destinations in the 5 continents it has reached so far, is preparing to introduce its passengers to the 6th continent where it will launch flights.

THY considers its flight network, which it continues to expand steadily, as one of the most important building blocks of its growth strategy, and strengthens this performance by adding Australia, which it attaches importance to and has been on its agenda for a while, to its flight network.

THY Chairman of the Board and Executive Committee Prof. Dr. Ahmet Bolat, whose views were included in the statement, expressed his satisfaction with starting flights to Melbourne.

Stating that they have achieved their goal of reaching the Australian continent, where they have been successfully carrying out infrastructure work for a certain period of time, with the flight date they have determined, Bolat said:

“We have an important global value that distinguishes us from our competitors. We are the airline that flies to the most countries in the world. Maintaining this valuable mission is a very strong motivation that pushes us to work and strive even harder, more devotedly and with more enthusiasm. With this motivation, we are excited to add Melbourne as the 346th destination to our flight network. With its natural beauties and hospitable people, Australia becomes the 130th country and 6th continent under our wings.”

Referring to the importance of the flight for the two countries, Bolat said, “As Turkish Airlines, which has been proud of connecting people, cultures and continents for more than 90 years, we are happy to bring together Australians with our award-winning service quality and unique flight network.”

Bolat said, “We plan to strengthen our presence in this beautiful country by increasing both the frequency of our flights and the number of destinations in the coming years. We also aim to increase bilateral tourism, trade and business opportunities as we bring the Turkish and Australian people closer and the bond between our countries strengthens.”

Flights will be organized via Singapore

THY will operate 3 flights a week to Melbourne, its 346th destination in 130 countries, as of March 15.

In this way, the company will contribute to the tourism and trade volumes of the two countries by flying thousands of visitors on the Istanbul-Melbourne route every year.

THY will also be the only European airline that flies to Melbourne Airport with flights connecting to Singapore.

Provided that ticketing is done between 19 January and 15 April, travel from Istanbul to Melbourne will be possible between 15 March and 15 May, with special introductory prices starting from $1199 US, and from Melbourne to Istanbul from $1499 Australian.

Thanks to the new route supported by the State of Victoria and Melbourne Airport, THY will fly to one of the largest commercial centers of Victoria, connecting Turkiye to Australia’s largest community of Turkish origin and the fastest-growing state.

Turkish Airlines’ new flights will increase Melbourne’s access to European, Middle Eastern, Balkan and African markets via Istanbul, contributing to its tourism, international education, business and trade potential.

THY aims to organize direct flights to Melbourne and other potential cities in the country in the next few years by purchasing new aircraft that have the capacity to operate the Istanbul-Melbourne flight non-stop.
