THY served 6.1 million passengers in February with a 25% increase

The number of passengers carried by Turkish Airlines (THY) in February increased by 25.4 percent compared to the same month last year, reaching 6.1 million.

In the statement made by THY to the Public Disclosure Platform, the company’s February 2024 traffic results were included.

Increasing the number of passengers carried, which was 4.9 million in February 2023, by 25.4% this year to 6.1 million, THY’s international occupancy rate was 80.9% and its domestic occupancy rate was 85.1%.

While the number of international-to-international transfer passengers was 2.1 million in February 2023, it increased by 14.6% to 2.4 million in the same month of this year.

Total offered seat kilometers (SAK) reached 18.4 billion in February this year, an increase of 19.5% from 15.4 billion compared to the same period last year.

While the cargo and mail volume carried was 101.9 thousand tons in February 2023, it increased by 45.6% to 148.4 thousand tons in the same period this year.

THY’s January-February period

According to the statement, which also included the 2024 January-February traffic results evaluation, THY increased the number of passengers carried by 12.8% compared to the same period last year, reaching 12.3 million.

While the number of international-to-international transfer passengers was 4.4 million in the January-February 2023 period, it increased by 14.4% to 5 million in the same period this year.

Passenger occupancy rate decreased by 0.2 points compared to January-February 2023, reaching 80.8%. International passenger occupancy was 80.3% and domestic passenger occupancy was 84.9%.

While AKK was 33.5 billion in the January-February 2023 period, it increased by 14.7% to 38.4 billion in the same period this year.

The total transported cargo and mail volume was recorded as 297.2 thousand tons in the first 2 months of 2024, an increase of 34.5% compared to the same period of the previous year.

The number of aircraft in THY’s fleet increased to 450 as of February.
