Trendyol and Cenomi Group establish a strategic partnership for Gulf countries

Trendyol Group President Caglayan Cetin said, “Approximately 2 million ‘Made in Turkiye’ labeled products have been sold in the Gulf countries so far. We aim to have 10 million different products on our platform in the Gulf countries in the near term.”

Within the scope of Trendyol’s strategic cooperation with Cenomi Group, its new platform, which will focus on fashion and living spaces, will serve in the six Gulf countries, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates (UAE), Qatar, Kuwait, Oman and Bahrain, where Trendyol has recently started operations.

According to the statement made by the company, Trendyol signed a letter of intent with Cenomi Group for strategic cooperation for the new fashion and lifestyle platform that will operate in the Gulf countries.

Within the framework of the cooperation, Trendyol’s existing platform, which serves in Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman and Bahrain, will be renewed in the coming months and will offer a wide range of products in different categories.

The platform will bring together the wide seller base of the Trendyol ecosystem and Trendyol’s own branded products with Cenomi’s wide product selection under the same roof.

Trendyol’s mobile application, which started operating in the Gulf countries in August, quickly became the most downloaded shopping application in both Saudi Arabia and the UAE and reached 30 thousand orders per day as of November. The new platform will further increase this growth momentum and increase the total order volume in 2024 to over 15 million.

The new platform will be accessible through both the mobile application and the website in English and Arabic. The platform will use an international and local logistics infrastructure, which will include Cenomi’s local omni-channels in shopping malls in Saudi Arabia, providing an end-to-end experience for both customers and brands.

‘Expansion in the Gulf countries is among our most important growth strategies’

Trendyol Group President Caglayan Cetin, whose views were included in the statement, stated that Trendyol’s expansion in the Gulf countries, with the support of regional investors Abu Dhabi Wealth Fund (ADQ) and Qatar Investment Authority (QIA), is among the most important growth strategies.

Cetin said, ‘We are delighted to partner with Cenomi, the Middle East’s most dynamic shopping and lifestyle brand, to deliver an exciting online retail experience to customers in the region. The new platform will further strengthen our activities in the region, where we already deliver high-quality Turkish products and international brands, while drawing strength from the common knowledge and expertise of both companies, as well as the customer experience competencies in which they are pioneers in their respective markets.’

Noting that, as Trendyol, they have enabled more than 51 thousand of our sellers to export since the beginning of 2022, Cetin pointed out that their sellers, most of whom they brought together with exports for the first time, sold more than 37 million products abroad in the last two years.

Cetin said, ‘In the Gulf countries, approximately 2 million products labeled ‘Made in Turkiye’ have been sold so far. We aim to have 10 million different products on our platform in the Gulf countries in the near term. By the end of November, we will enable more than 60 thousand of our sellers to sell to the Gulf countries with a single click.’

Cenomi Group Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Mohamad Mourad stated that he is very excited to have joined forces with Trendyol, one of the world’s leading e-commerce platforms, to offer a unique e-commerce experience to customers and brands in the Gulf Region.

Mourad said, ‘The new platform will combine Trendyol’s world-class technology and strong seller ecosystem with Cenomi’s regional experience in the fields of wide product selection, local multiple channels, end-to-end delivery and customer experience. With this new initiative, we continue our mission to be the driving force of the growth of leading brands in the Gulf countries, especially Saudi Arabia.’
