Turkey: Housing Price Index increased by 13% in January

The House Price Index (KPI) increased by 13.1% in January compared to the previous month and became 279.7.

The Housing Price Index data for the period of January 2022 has been announced by the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT).

The (KFE) (2017=100), calculated to monitor the quality-adjusted price changes of houses in Turkey, increased by 13.1% in January compared to the previous month and was recorded as 279.7.

While the Housing Price Index increased by 77.4% in January compared to the same month of 2021, the real increase in this period was 21.2%.

Looking at the housing price index changes for the three big cities, an increase of 14.1%, 12.5% and 13.6% was observed in Istanbul, Ankara and Izmir, respectively, in January compared to the previous month.

Index values increased by 83.5% in Istanbul, 73.5% in Ankara and 73.1% in Izmir compared to the same month of the previous year.
