ITO announced the products with the highest and lowest price changes in March

In Istanbul, the product with the highest price increase in March compared to the previous month was bell pepper, while the product with the highest decrease was cucumber.

The Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (ITO) announced the change rates of the products with the highest and lowest retail price changes in the city in March.

Accordingly, out of 242 products included in ITO’s Istanbul Cost of Living Index, the retail price of 121 products increased, while the price of 25 products decreased, and the price of 96 products remained unchanged.

In March, bell pepper, belonging to the sub-group of fresh, dried vegetables and fruits, showed the highest increase in price with 34.34 percent.

Among other products with an increase in price were quince with 23.45 percent from the sub-group of vegetables and fruits, salt with 20.55 percent from the sub-group of various ready-to-eat foods, mutton with 16.02 percent from the sub-group of meat, fish, and poultry, sausage with 14.28 percent, and beef with 13.11 percent from the housing expenses group, determined as paint and paint labor with 13.93 percent.

Products with the highest price decreases Cucumber, belonging to the sub-group of fresh, dried vegetables and fruits, experienced the highest decrease in price with 29.42 percent in March.

Other products with a decrease in price included zucchini with 24.29 percent, fava beans with 18.97 percent, cauliflower with 10.57 percent, spinach with 8.48 percent, and eggs with 7.18 percent.
