Benchmark index gains around 41.5 points at opening session
The Turkish benchmark stock index opened Thursday at 9,113.55 points, gaining 0.46% or 41.47 points versus the previous close.
At the midweek closing session, the BIST 100 index rose 0.87% to 9,072.08 points, with a daily transaction volume of 132 billion liras ($4.3 billion).
The US dollar/Turkish lira (USD/TRY) exchange rate was 30.7600 as of 10.20 a.m. local time (0720GMT) and the EUR/TRY rate stood at 33.1320,while the GBP/TRY rate was 38.6275.
The price of an ounce of gold was $2,004.85 and the barrel price of Brent oil was around $81.40.
