Turkiye: $15.5 million of sea snails were exported

In the first 11 months of the year, sea snails worth $15 million 478 thousand 635 were exported to 8 countries.

Eastern Black Sea Exporters Union Deputy Chairman of the Board Ahmet Hamdi Gurdogan said that 1836 tons of sea snails were exported in the January-November period.

Stating that $15 million 478 thousand 635 were gained from the foreign sales in question, Gurdogan stated that the Republic of South Korea leads the way in exports to 8 countries.

Noting that $8 million 316 thousand 546 of sea snails were exported to South Korea, Gurdogan said, “South Korea was followed by Japan with $2 million 459 thousand 112 and Spain with $2 million 30 thousand 814.

Stating that $9 million 168 thousand 115 of sea snails were exported from the Black Sea to 5 countries, especially the Republic of South Korea, Gurdogan noted that the other countries are the People’s Republic of China, Japan, Taiwan and the USA.

Emphasizing that sea snails are not consumed in Turkiye and that they are at the forefront with their exports, Ahmet Hamdi Gurdogan said, “We believe that we will complete this year with good figures in exports and our target next year is to reach much higher export figures.”
