Turkiye: Energy import bill decreased in June

The amount paid by Turkiye for energy imports decreased by 46.4% in June compared to the same month of the previous year and decreased to $4 billion 329 million 191 thousand.

According to the temporary foreign trade statistics created by the Turkish Statistical Institute and the Ministry of Commerce, Turkiye’s total imports in June decreased by 17.5% compared to the same month of the previous year and became $26 billion 64 million.

$4 billion 329 million 191 thousand of this amount was composed of “mineral fuels, mineral oils and products obtained from their distillation, bituminous substances, mineral waxes”, summarized as energy imports.

In June last year, this figure was recorded as $8 billion 82 million 91 thousand. Thus, the amount of energy imports decreased by 46.4% on an annual basis.

On the other hand, crude oil imports decreased by 5.4% in June compared to the same month of the previous year, and decreased to 2 million 996 thousand 745 tons.
