Turkiye has become Citroen’s second largest market after France

Citroen Turkiye General Manager Selen Alkim said, “When we look at the 5-month results as of the end of May, while the Turkish market grew by 60.5%, we, as Citroen, grew by 130% and reached a total sales of 24 thousand 16 units.”

Citroen Turkiye rose to the second rank after France in the global sales ranking.

According to the statement made by Citroen, the company continues to increase its performance in the Turkish market day by day with its innovative models and rich equipment level.

Making a quick start to 2023, Citroen reached the highest monthly sales figure in Turkiye with the sales figure of 5,348 units in March. Citroen broke a new record in monthly sales volume with its performance in May.

The brand, which increased its sales by 581% in May compared to the same period of 2022, achieved an important success in the world of Citroen with its sales of 8 thousand 528 units. With this sales volume, the Turkish market, which has risen to the position of Citroen’s second highest selling country in the world, has succeeded in entering the top 5 countries globally in the first 5 months.

‘We grew by 300% by increasing our sales in every segment we are in’

Citroen Turkiye General Manager Selen Alkim, whose views are included in the statement, stated that the Turkish automotive market grew by 70.9% in May, compared to the same month of 2022, and said, “The sales of the Citroen brand in Turkiye grew by 581% in the same period. When we look at the 5-month results as of the end of May, while the Turkish market grew by 60.5%, we, as Citroen, grew by 130% and reached a total sales of 24 thousand 16 units. Therefore, the process until the end of May was very successful for us.’

Noting that the said sales success brought Citroen Turkiye forward in the list of countries, Alkim said:

‘We want to see Turkiye in the top 5 in the world of Citroen in 2025 from the global center’ was given the target. We entered the top 5 countries at the end of April 2023. Adding the latest figures, we ranked second globally in the list of countries in May, and strengthened our position at the 5th place globally in the first 5 months. We realized the growth achieved not only in passenger cars but also in commercial vehicles. In May, 34% of our sales consisted of commercial vehicles with 2 thousand 921 units. While the commercial vehicle market grew by 130% in the first 5 months, we grew by 300% by increasing our sales in every segment we are in.’
