Turkiye-Montenegro economic relations will be placed on “solid ground”

A business forum was held in Pogdoritsa, the capital of Montenegro, in order to increase economic cooperation between Turkiye and Montenegro.

Turkiye’s Ambassador to Podgorica, Baris Kalkavan, spoke at the forum supported by the Montenegrin Chamber of Commerce, the Turkish Investors Association in Montenegro, and the Small and Medium Enterprises Development and Support Administration (KOSGEB). He said that the two countries have established a productive cooperation in the cultural and political fields, and that they want economic and commercial relations to accompany this.

Stating that Montenegro attracts investors due to its strategic location and potential, especially in the field of tourism, Kalkavan said, “The European Union accession process is also very important for Turkish business people and it is necessary to take advantage of the available investment opportunities.”

Pavle Radovanovic, Vice President of the Montenegrin Chamber of Commerce, noted that the two countries have traditionally had good relations and that there are also opportunities in the field of economic cooperation.

Radovanovic also stated that they will hold frequent meetings with Turkish institutions to develop trade between the two countries.

Representatives of more than 60 companies, especially in construction, real estate sales and trade, attended the business forum.
