The global technology platform Uber starts its activities on the application as of Tuesday, April 18, 2023, in order to support urban transportation in Hatay, taxi tradesmen and aid efforts in the region.
Uber continues to work to support the earthquake zone. As of April 18, 2023, all Uber users will be able to call an Uber Taxi in Hatay via the Uber application. Taxi drivers will not pay any service fees to Uber for journeys made through the Uber application.
Neyran Bahadirli, CEO of Uber Turkiye, Israel, Malta, said:
“We continue our work to support the earthquake zone. We are starting our activities in Hatay without charging a service fee from taxis in order to contribute with our technology to urban transportation and post-earthquake relief efforts in Hatay.”
As of April 18, all Uber users will be able to call an Uber Taxi for a safe journey in Hatay. In order to contribute to the transportation in the region and support the relief efforts, Uber is giving all its users one (1) free Uber Taxi ride up to ₺70 valid only in Hatay. All Uber users in Hatay can benefit from the free ride with the code MERHABAHATAY.

How does the Uber app work?
- Download the app to your smartphone.
- Open the Uber app from anywhere in the city, enter your destination and hail a taxi for your ride.
- Track Uber Taxi via the app, track how many minutes the taxi will arrive to pick you up and track the vehicle’s model and license plate number, along with all information about the driver.
- Add the code MERHABAHATAY to the Promotions section of the Wallet tab in the Uber application, call an Uber Taxi and enjoy your free ride up to ₺70.
