Vispera Receives $500 Thousand Investment from APY Ventures for AI Development

Turkish technology company Vispera, which produces visual recognition solutions based on artificial intelligence in the retail sector and provides services in more than 50 countries, received an investment of $500 thousand from APY Ventures Bilisim Vadisi GSYF. Vispera aims to continue growing by expanding its global marketing activities with this new investment.

APY Ventures, which has many Venture Capital Investment Funds in different formats tailored to the needs of entrepreneurs and investors, invested $500 thousand in the Turkish artificial intelligence technology initiative Vispera, which provides services in more than 50 countries around the world. With this investment, the company’s valuation reached $46.2 million.

Founded in 2014 by Prof. Dr. Aytul Ercil and Dr. Ceyhun Burak Akgul with a team of six people and 100% Turkish capital, Vispera currently continues its journey with a staff of 120 people.

Vispera, which was established with the aim of perfecting in-store application, monitoring and control processes in the retail sector, offers much faster, more reliable and cost-effective retail application and control solutions to the sector with its own image processing/machine learning technology than the human-based and error-prone traditional methods currently used in the sector.

Evaluating the issue, Vispera Co-CEO Prof. Dr. Aytul Ercil said;

“While we started our journey as a startup with my partner Ceyhun Burak Akgul 10 years ago, today we are a global brand serving a very wide geographical area. Thanks to our high technology and artificial intelligence-based solutions, we have made a great contribution to the transformation of the retail industry. The investment we received from APY Ventures is very valuable to us. I believe that our successful work will continue increasingly with the strength we receive from here.”

APY Ventures Fund Manager Mustafa Keceli said about the Vispera investment;

“Vispera, in which we invested with our IT Valley fund, has been playing a leading role in the retail industry since the day it was founded. As APY Ventures, we are happy to invest in a successful company that aims to grow in global markets with high technology solutions. With this investment, we reinforce our belief that Vispera’s successful work will continue to grow stronger and we wish them continued success.”
