Foreign companies can participate in international fairs or exhibitions in Turkey only for exhibition purposes to show their products however they can sell their products in retail.
The Communiqué of the Ministry of Commerce on International Fairs Held in Turkey was published in the 3rd duplicate issue of the Official Gazette.
The communiqué was prepared in order to regulate the import of fair goods of foreign companies participating in international fairs organized domestically.
Foreign countries or companies may participate in international fairs or exhibitions held in Turkey only for display purposes and cannot make direct retail sales of the products bought for exhibition purposes.
After the fair is over, certain goods brought for exhibition purposes by foreign countries or companies can be sold only after the paperwork for imports within the framework of customs legislation is done.
The Communiqué will enter into force on January 1, 2021.
