BIST 100 rises 25.8 points, or 1.28%, from previous close
Turkiye’s benchmark stock index ended Friday with gains to close at 2,033.32 points.
After starting the day at 2,020.27 points, Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index gained 25.77 points, or 1.28%, from Thursday’s close of 2,007.55 points.
The index’s lowest value during the day was 1,994.45 points, while its daily high was 2,036.08 points.
The daily trading volume stood at 34.9 billion Turkish liras ($2.5 billion), while a total of 61 stocks on the index rose during the day, 33 fell, and six remained unchanged compared to Thursday’s close.
The highest trading volumes were posted by private lender Garanti, iron and steel producer Eregli, and national flag carrier Turkish Airlines.
Shares of pipe and tube producer Erbosan (ERBOS) performed the best, up 9.96%, while stocks of software developer Logo saw the largest decline 3.35%.
One ounce of gold traded for $1,790.00 by the day’s end, down from $1,800.70 at the previous close, according to data from Borsa Istanbul’s Precious Metals and Diamond Markets.
The price of Brent crude oil was up 0.08% to $82.07 per barrel as of 6.26 p.m. local time (1526GMT)
