Banking sector loan volume reached ₺8 trillion 172.9 billion

The loan volume of the banking sector increased by ₺84 billion 472 million last week and reached ₺8 trillion 172 billion 866 million.

According to the weekly bulletin published by the Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency (BDDK), the loan volume of the sector increased by ₺84 billion 472 million as of March 10. In the said period, the total loan volume increased from ₺8 trillion 88 billion 395 million to ₺8 trillion 172 billion 867 million.

Total deposits (including interbank) in the banking sector increased by ₺123 billion 405 million last week. The total deposits of the banking sector, which increased by 1.29% in the week in question, became ₺9 trillion 654 billion 167 million.

Consumer loans became ₺1 trillion 226 billion 166 million

According to the data, the amount of consumer loans increased by ₺23 billion 317 million as of March 10 and rose to ₺1 trillion 226 billion 166 million. ₺374 billion 340 million of the said loans consisted of housing loans, ₺58 billion 846 million for vehicles and ₺792 billion 980 million for consumer loans.

In the said period, the amount of installment commercial loans increased by ₺9 billion 561 million and reached ₺998 billion 717 million. Individual credit card receivables of banks increased by 1.1% to ₺519 billion 641 million. ₺264 billion 684 million of personal credit card receivables were in installments, and ₺254 billion 958 million were without installments.

Legal equity increased

According to the BRSA weekly data, NPLs in the banking sector increased by ₺57 million compared to the previous week and reached ₺159 billion 151 million as of March 10. A special provision has been set aside for ₺138 billion 986 million of the aforementioned non-performing loans.

In the same period, legal equities of the banking system increased by ₺5 billion 885 million and reached ₺1 trillion 762 billion 145 million.
