BIST 100 Index Rises by 0.62% to 10,714.07 Points at Opening
The BIST 100 index at Borsa Istanbul began the week with a 0.62% increase, opening at 10,714.07 points. At the start, the BIST 100 index rose by 66.16 points, marking a 0.62% increase from the previous close.
The banking index recorded a 0.79% gain, while the holding index saw a 0.70% rise. Among sector indices, construction materials led with a 0.98% gain, while securities investment trusts experienced the most significant decline with a 0.95% loss.
On Friday, Borsa Istanbul experienced fluctuating trends, with the BIST 100 index closing the day with a 0.31% decrease at 10,647.91 points.
Analysts noted that strengthening expectations that the far-right might struggle to secure an outright majority in the French elections have supported risk appetite in global equity markets. They also highlighted that this week, investor focus is on a dense schedule of economic data releases and important central bank officials’ statements, influencing market sentiment.
