According to information compiled from the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM) data by an AA correspondent, Iraq took the lead among the countries where Turkey’s exports increased the most in value in the first quarter of the year, with $691.5 million.
Following Iraq, Romania ranked second with $489.3 million, the Netherlands third with $324.2 million, Italy fourth with $246.4 million, and the United States fifth with $241.8 million in export growth.
In the January-March period, exports amounted to $2.7 billion to Iraq, $1.9 billion to Romania, $2.03 billion to the Netherlands, $3.1 billion to Italy, and $3.2 billion to the United States.

During this period, Turkey’s most significant foreign sales were to Germany, the United States, Italy, and the United Kingdom, totaling $4.6 billion to Germany and $3.2 billion to the United Kingdom.
In the first quarter, the grain, pulses, oilseeds, and their products sector made the highest exports to Iraq with $583.8 million. The furniture, paper, and forest products sector achieved $274.5 million, the chemicals and chemical products sector $265.2 million, the electrical and electronic sector $188.8 million, and the seafood and animal products sector $167.4 million in product sales.
Most exports to Iraq were made from Istanbul In the January-March period, companies based in Istanbul made the highest exports to Iraq with $785.6 million.
Following Istanbul, Gaziantep ranked second with $453.2 million, Mardin third with $196.8 million, Şırnak fourth with $150.1 million, and Mersin fifth with $149.6 million.
