Missafir, a local startup focused on home accommodation and real estate management, opened to the Montenegrin market

Missafir, Turkiye’s leading home accommodation and real estate management brand, continues its growth in Europe by entering the Montenegrin market.

Missafir, one of Turkiye’s home accommodation and real estate management startups, has expanded its service network to Montenegro.

The startup is starting to serve in 6 cities at the same time in Montenegro, which is its second stop in Europe. Adding popular holiday destinations such as Budva, Kotor, Tivat, Kolašin, Bar and Ulcinj to its portfolio, Missafir is taking another important step towards its vision of becoming a global home accommodation and real estate management brand.

Missafir entered the Montenegrin market with a high-participation launch meeting. At the launch, which took place with the support of the Republic of Turkiye Embassy in Montenegro, many important names from the public and private sectors came together.

Mehmet Yuksel, CEO of Missafir, made a statement on the subject:

After Croatia, we strongly enter Montenegro, the fast-growing country of the Adriatic region with great potential. We are planning a rapid growth in the region by taking advantage of the great tourism potential of Montenegro. At the same time, we will ensure the digital transformation of the home accommodation sector, which is untouched in this country. Montenegro is an important step both for new markets in the region and for our European leadership goal. We owe a great debt of gratitude to our Ambassador, Mr. Baris Kalkavan, who provided us with great support while taking this step.

Missafir will provide end-to-end real estate management support with technological infrastructure to landlords in Montenegro, while providing the comfort of a five-star hotel for short and medium-term house rentals. Missafir, which recently acquired Golden Leaf Properties from Croatia with its upper segment portfolio, provides services in a wide spectrum for different needs and experiences with more than 2300 houses in more than 100 popular locations in Turkiye, Northern Cyprus, Croatia and Montenegro.

Missafir investor and Chief Strategy Officer Mehmet Onarcan made the following statement on growth strategies in the European market and their decision to enter Montenegro.

“We evaluate the potentials, market and competitive conditions of the prominent markets of Eastern Europe, and customize our entry and growth strategy according to market dynamics. We attach great importance to local collaborations in terms of fast entry and local experience. We will continue to make acquisitions in regions where we have found suitable synergies. However, there will be markets like Montenegro where we aim to establish our own operations and grow organically. With the successful management of Missafir, Montenegro will become an even more attractive market for real estate investors. While increasing the share of foreign countries in our total portfolio and revenues, we will also contribute to the revenues of this country, the most important income item of which is tourism. As one of the founding members of TurkCham-Montenegro, we will also work to improve Montenegro-Turkiye business relations.”

Among the technological solutions offered by Missafir, one of the important startups in Turkiye’s PropTech vertical, are dynamic pricing, integration with multiple platforms through a single interface, channel management, smart home technologies and AI data analysis. The initiative, which carries the flag of leadership in the digital transformation of the sector, aims to achieve global success by expanding its investments in this field.

New investment round is coming

We have also heard that Missafir is meeting with investors from abroad to increase its growth and brand awareness in Europe and to continue its technology investments without slowing down. We will continue to follow the steps of Missafir, which was born in Turkiye and is on its way to becoming a global brand, with excitement.
