The Central Bank’s Monetary Policy Committee will announce its interest rate decision tomorrow. In the previous meeting, the bank kept the policy rate constant at 9%.
The Central Bank of the Republic of Turkiye (CBRT) Monetary Policy Committee will meet tomorrow under the chairmanship of Central Bank Governor Sahap Kavcioglu.
The interest rate decision will be announced at 14:00. In the previous meeting, the bank kept the policy rate constant at 9 percent.
Economists expect the policy rate to be cut to 8%
The expectations survey of the CBRT’s Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) meeting resulted in the participation of 17 economists.
According to the survey results, most economists expect the policy rate to be cut to 8%.
While 10 economists stated that the policy rate, which is currently at 9%, will be reduced by 100 basis points, 1 estimates this cut will be 150 basis points. Six economists expect the policy rate to be kept constant.
At the MPC meeting held last month, the policy rate was kept unchanged at 9%.
