Exports of $284.6 million from Mediterranean chemical exporters in May

Saadettin Cagan, Chairman of the Mediterranean Chemicals and Chemical Products Exporters’ Association (AKMIB), reported that their union achieved $284.6 million of exports in May.

In his written statement, Cagan stated that Turkiye’s exports of chemical substances and products reached $2.45 billion in May.

Noting that AKMIB gave 11.6% support to this performance, Cagan said, “As AKMIB, we evaluated 426 thousand 533 tons of products in international markets in May. Our Association achieved $284.6 million of exports this month.”

Stating that they achieved the highest export values in May in mineral fuels and mineral oils, plastics and products, and inorganic chemicals, Cagan said:

“We reached an export value of $146.6 million in mineral fuels and mineral oils. This was followed by plastics and their products with $48.9 million, and inorganic chemicals with a value of $35.4 million. In May, we exported the most to Romania with $57 million.”
