Turkish Automotive Sub-Industry Exports Reach $3.7 Billion in the First Quarter

Automotive sub-industry products worth $3 billion 731 million 612 thousand were exported from Turkiye in the January-March period.

In the first quarter of 2024, exports were made to more than 190 countries, free zones and autonomous regions in the automotive sub-industry.

Sub-industry exports, which were $3 billion 614 million 610 thousand in the first 3 months of last year, increased by 3.24% in the same period of 2024 and reached $3 billion 731 million 612 thousand.

Sub-industry products constituted 40.9% of the automotive industry’s total exports, which amounted to $9 billion 132 million 431 thousand in 3 months this year.

Sub-industry exports of $836.5 million to Germany

When we look at the countries to which the most exports are made in the sub-industry, Germany, the main market of the automotive industry, ranked first.

3-month sub-industry exports to Germany decreased by 5.8% compared to the same period last year. Sub-industry exports to Germany, which were $888 million 544 thousand in January-March last year, decreased to $836 million 519 thousand in the same period this year.

The increase in France, the second largest market, was recorded as 7.82%. In the first quarter of 2023, $228 million 295 thousand of sub-industry exports were made to France, and $246 million 155 thousand of products were sold in the same period this year.

Sub-industry exports to the USA, which ranks third, increased by 20.42%, rising from $202 million 744 thousand to $244 million 150 thousand.

During this period, exports to Italy amounted to $224 million 752 thousand, with a decrease of 5.5%, and to Russia, $214 million 148 thousand, with a decrease of 2.5%.

56% export increase to Romania

In the first quarter, sub-industry exports to the United Kingdom increased by 9.27%, from $170 million 289 thousand to $186 million 75 thousand.

Sub-industry exports to Romania, the 7th country with the most exports, increased by 56.1%. Sub-industry exports to Romania, which were $117 million 217 thousand in the first quarter of last year, increased to $182 million 971 thousand in the same period this year.

Poland was the 8th country with $166 million 87 thousand, Spain was the 9th country with $157 million 268 thousand, and Belgium was the 10th country with the highest sub-industry exports with $89 million 268 thousand.
