
Index gains over 16 points from previous close
Turkiye’s benchmark stock index opened at 2,160.42 points on Monday, up 16.16 points, or 0.75%, from the previous close.
On Friday, the BIST 100 index rose 0.5% to close at 2,144.26 points, with a daily trading volume of 26.7 billion Turkish liras ($1.8 billion).
The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate climbed to 14.84 as of 10.11 a.m.local time (0711GMT) for a 0.17% daily increase.
The euro/lira exchange rate was up 0.3% to 16.40 at the time, while a British pound traded for 19.54 Turkish liras, a rise of 0.2%.
The price of international oil benchmark Brent crude was at $111.20 per barrel with a 3% gain.
