Zimbabwe’s Tourism sector targets UAE market

ZIMBABWE’S tourism authorities are angling for enhanced market share in the Middle East through a strategic synergy with one of the United Arab Emirates’ influential media platforms, Emirati Women Travel Bloggers, to promote destination Zimbabwe.

The Zimbabwe Tourism Authority (ZTA) is setting its eyes on the United Arab Emirates source market. The authority invited Emirati bloggers to experience the country’s hospitality in an effort to boost tourist arrivals from the Middle East.

Government is optimistic that the influence of the bloggers will help attract more tourists from the Middle East.

Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Tourism and Hospitality Industry, Mr Takuza Munyanyiwa said, “These are part of efforts to sell destination Zimbabwe. We can’t be telling our own story and what better way than to allow others to share it for us. Their words and perceptions will shape a good narrative for us and help us boost tourist arrivals.”

The Emirati Women Travel Bloggers representative Miss Maitha Alsuwaidi said they are looking forward to sharing their experiences.

“This is my first time being in Zimbabwe and Africa. We are looking forward to having an unforgetable experience and we will share our stories to help sell destination Zimbabwe. We are happy to be here and we will make use of the time that we are going to be here,”said Emirati Content Creator, Miss Maitha Alsuwaidi.

The bloggers will be in the country for eight days. They will visit Nyanga, Hwange and Victoria Falls where they will experience and explore Zimbabwe’s hospitality.
