Central Bank of the Republic of Turkiye raises rediscount interest rates

The Central Bank of the Republic of Turkiye (CBRT) announced that the discount interest rate to be applied in rediscount transactions against the bills with a maximum maturity of 3 months has been increased to 25.75% annually.

The CBRT’s communiqué on changes in the rediscount interest rates was published in the Official Gazette.

According to the Communiqué, the discount interest rate to be applied in rediscount transactions to be made against promissory notes with a maximum maturity of 3 months was determined as 25.75% per annum, and the interest rate to be applied in advance transactions was determined as 26.75% per annum.

While the said rates come into effect as of today, these rates were previously at the level of 15.75% for rediscount discount interest and 16.75% for advance transactions.
