Siemens Turkey and SOCAR Turkey signed an agreement for the main energy distribution infrastructure supply.
A main electricity infrastructure cooperation agreement was signed between Siemens Turkey and SOCAR Turkey, which carries out the Turkish operations of SOCAR, the State Oil Company of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
According to the agreement, Siemens Turkey will undertake the installation and renewal of the entire energy distribution infrastructure and SCADA systems of STAR Refinery, SOCAR Storage and Petkim Petrokimya Holding under the umbrella of SOCAR Turkey Refinery and Petrochemical Business Unit for a period of 5 years.
Making a statement on the subject at the signing ceremony held at SOCAR Turkey Izmir-Aliaga facilities, Siemens Turkey Chairman and CEO Huseyin Gelis said, “Our sustainable growth strategy for the future is one of the cornerstones of leaving a better life for new generations. With this vision, our electrification, digitalization and automation activities reinforce each other in a principled cycle. We are happy to sign a project that will set an example for our cooperation in this context.”
Anar Mammadov, SOCAR Turkey Refinery and Petrochemical Business Unit President and Petkim General Manager, stated that their cooperation will carry the digital transformation efforts involving all group companies to a more effective level, and said, “With the infrastructure support provided by Siemens in our digitalization efforts, we will now take a stronger path.
Digital transformation will continue to be one of the most important areas we focus on in the coming period with new investments and projects.”
