Georgia orders 175 Otokar buses used for public transport

Serdar Görgüç the general manager of Otokar: ‘’We will accelerate the production with Georgian tender and give a new impulse to Georgian public transportation.’’

Otokar signed a contract with Georgian Development Fund of Municipality; the contract includes spare parts and trainings of 175 buses worth 18,7 million euro.

According to the statement of Otokar; Georgia and Otokar made the biggest export deal of 2020 with the busses that are produced with 57 years of experience and get credit for their design, ergonomics and technology from the user countries.

Otokar will start a new era in the Georgian public transportation with 175 busses. According to the contract, the deliveries of the busses will be started in 2020. Busses named 117 Sultan LF and 58 Kent LF will be used in 6 different city. The recruitment of spare parts and the training of these busses will also be provided by Otokar.

Görgüç stated that he is pleased by the fact that Otokar won such an important tender at the beginning of the Turkey’s normalization process and he added that Otokar will leave it’s international rivals behind with the transition operations that are started in respect to meet the increasing Georgian demand of public transportation. He said:

‘’We are passing through difficult times globally. Rather than only being a health issue, Covid-19 has deeply affected economics and development. We will accelerate the production with Georgian tender and give a new impulse to Georgian public transportation with eco-friendly and comfortable journeys via our busses’ design, technical qualities, extensive internal volume. Our vehicles will provide services at the end of the year.’’
