LPG imports of Turkiye increased by 48.6%

LPG imports of Turkiye increased by 48.6% in December 2022 compared to the same month of the previous year and reached 365 thousand 495 tons.

According to the “Liquefied Petroleum Gases (LPG) Market Sector Report” of the Energy Market Regulatory Authority for December 2022, the countries from which LPG imports are made by refinery and distributor license holders are the USA, Algeria, Russia, Nigeria, Kazakhstan, Romania, Norway.

LPG imports increased by 48.6% in December 2022 compared to the same month of the previous year and amounted to 365 thousand 495 tons.

In this period, LPG exports made by refinery and distributor license holders increased by 30.1% to 34 thousand 810 tons. Exports were made to 8 countries and regions including Lebanon, Bulgaria, Switzerland, Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, Seychelles, Marshall Islands, Romania and Turkiye Free Zone.

LPG production decreased by 10.8% in the same period and became 76 thousand 971 tons.

Total LPG sales made by distributor license holders in December 2022 compared to the same month of the previous year were calculated as approximately 356 thousand 948 tons.

In the month in question, autogas ranked first with a market share of 75% in sales. This was followed by cylinder LPG with 13.7% and bulk LPG with 11.3%.
