Minister Simsek: We expect Turkiye-Germany foreign trade volume to exceed $50 billion

Minister of Treasury and Finance Mehmet Simsek stated that they expect the foreign trade volume between Turkiye and Germany to exceed $50 billion by the end of this year and said, “We believe that Germany will give stronger support in developing our relations with the European Union (EU) in the coming period.”

Minister Simsek shared a post on his social media account about his meeting with Robert Habeck, Deputy Prime Minister of the Federal Republic of Germany and Minister of Economy and Climate Protection.

Stating that they had a productive meeting with Habeck today, Simsek noted that they attach great importance to relations with Germany.

Simsek pointed out that they expect the foreign trade volume between both countries to exceed $50 billion by the end of this year and made the following evaluations:

“There are more than 8 thousand companies in our country that have German capital or were established in partnership with German capital. In order to further increase the strong ties and cooperation between both countries, we evaluated investment opportunities with Habeck and shared the details of our Medium Term Program. We believe that Germany will provide stronger support in developing our relations with the European Union in the coming period.”
