Sales increased by 10% in the second-hand online vehicle market

Sales in the second-hand online vehicle market increased by 10% in February compared to the same month of the previous year, reaching 126 thousand 43 units.

In February 2023, 348,330 individual vehicle advertisements were published in the second-hand online passenger and light commercial vehicle market in Turkiye. Compared to February of last year, the number of advertisements increased by 13%.

36% of the vehicles advertised were sold. Thus, 126 thousand 43 units were sold last month, an increase of 10% compared to the same period of 2022.

The share of automobiles in sales was determined as 81% and the share of light commercial vehicles as 19%.

Looking at the total sales for the January-February 2023 period, there was a 20% increase in the number of advertisements and a 41% increase in sales compared to the same period of the previous year.

Prices also increased

According to the analysis made by examining the price changes of 123 thousand 250 advertisements in the 2010-2022 model years of 2 thousand 32 variants of 165 models of the first 31 brands with the highest sales in the secondary online market, in February, retail prices in the second-hand online passenger and light commercial vehicle market increased by 4% compared to the previous month.

Diesel has the largest share in sales

When Turkiye’s second-hand online passenger and light commercial market is evaluated according to engine type, diesel automobiles had the highest share in February 2023, with sales of 79,818 units.

Diesel cars were followed by gasoline cars with 41 thousand 71 sales and auto gas cars with 2 thousand 704 units.

Sales of hybrid cars were 2,157, while sales of second-hand electric cars were 293.

In addition, C-segment vehicles accounted for 41% of the passenger cars sold last month. Compared to the same period of the previous year, the share of C-SUV segment vehicle sales in total passenger vehicles increased by 10% and the share of D-SUV segment increased by 8% in February.
