Arcelik Deputy General Manager Responsible for Strategy and Digitalization Utku Baris Pazar: “The number of stakeholders of the Here2next platform reached from 9 to 30 in a short period of 1.5 years.”

Here2next platform, which aims to solve the inefficiencies in corporate-startup collaborations, organized a summit that brought together stakeholder companies and startups.

According to the statement made by Arcelik, at Here2next Summit’23, which was held with the participation of speakers and guests from home and abroad, the activities of the platform in the last year and the startup cooperation performance results of Here2next stakeholder companies were shared.

Workshops were also held at the summit, where solution proposals to prominent problems in the fields of law, purchasing and communication were discussed.

Arcelik Deputy General Manager Responsible for Strategy and Digitalization Utku Baris Pazar, whose views were included in the statement, stated that the number of stakeholders of the Here2next platform reached from 9 to 30 in a short period of 1.5 years.

Pazar said:

“According to a report by McKinsey & Company, approximately 70% of corporate startup collaborations fail to achieve their set goals. Similarly, Boston Consulting Group states that 90% of startups and 85% of corporate companies believe in the value of collaboration, but problems are encountered in the harmonization and implementation of these collaborations. When establishing the Here2next platform, we aimed to solve the inefficiencies in this area. Thanks to our decentralized and agile management model, we rapidly increased the number of our stakeholders and reached 30 strong stakeholders as institutions that want to work more and more easily with startups. In the last year, each Here2Next stakeholder company met an average of 370 startups and held focused meetings with 120 of them. Our stakeholders worked on concept development with a total of 264 startups, and 88 of them turned into value-creating commercial collaborations. As Arcelik, we act with the mission of becoming a global hub in the startup ecosystem by basing all our processes on collaboration with our open innovation approach. I believe that we will create an impact on a global scale and become a leading platform with the Here2next platform.”

Arcelik Deputy General Manager Responsible for Purchasing and Supply Chain Cem Kural stated that startups play an important role in the growth of institutions.

Stating that companies that cooperate and establish partnerships with startups gain momentum in growth, Kural said, “As Arcelik, we are a company that tries to be startup-friendly. We founded Arcelik Garage in 2015 with the philosophy of collaboration in open innovation. We have screened more than 5 thousand startups so far in the Arcelik Garage Innovation Hub, today known as Arcelik, and we have cooperated with more than 40 startups in the last 3 years.”

Kural said, “We have recently implemented various programs in the startup ecosystem to increase the number of female entrepreneurs and make them successful. In the last two years, we have supported 882 female entrepreneurs or entrepreneur candidates. Companies and startups are organizations that feed each other. In this respect, Here2next is an extremely valuable platform for us.”
