Exports from Kirklareli, Edirne and Tekirdag in the January-May period of this year increased by 13% compared to the same period of the previous year.
According to the data of the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TIM), $877 million 504 thousand 97 were exported from Thrace in the first 5 months of this year.
In the same period of last year, $776 million 315 thousand 83 were exported from Kirklareli, Edirne and Tekirdag. Thus, exports from Thrace in the first 5 months of the year increased by 13% compared to the same period of the previous year.
In the January-May period of this year, the most exports in Thrace were made from Tekirdag with $759 million 120 thousand 14, $84 million 747 thousand 39 from Kirklareli and $33 million 637 thousand 44 from Edirne.
Tekirdag made the most exports in the ferrous and non-ferrous metals sector, and Kirklareli and Edirne in the cereals, pulses, oilseeds and products sectors.
The highest exports from Tekirdag were to Germany with $160 million 172 thousand 54, to the United States with $52 million 26 thousand 74, and to Italy with $39 million 626 thousand 76, respectively.
The highest exports from Kirklareli were made to Germany with $7 million 601 thousand 75, Italy with $6 million 908 thousand 61, and Kenya with $6 million 788 thousand 4.
Bosnia and Herzegovina with $6 million 959 thousand 10, Bulgaria with $6 million 10 thousand 90, and Greece with $3 million 676 thousand 22 were the countries to which Edirne made the most foreign sales.
