BIST 100 index gains 17.66 points in opening session
Turkiye’s benchmark stock index opened at 5,076.41 points on Monday, rising 0.35%, or 17.66 points, from the previous close.
On Friday, Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index dropped 0.54% to close the week at 5,058.75,with a daily trading volume of 71.4 billion Turkish liras ($3.78 billion).
The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was at 18.8740 as of 9.53 a.m. local time (0653GMT), the euro/lira exchange rate stood at 19.8876, while a British pound traded for 22.5176 Turkish liras.
Brent crude oil was selling for around $82.30 per barrel, while the price of an ounce of gold was $1,815.15.
