Chicken, turkey meat production down, while egg production up, says Turkish Statistical Institute
Chicken meat production in Türkiye fell 3.7% in 2023 on an annual basis, the country’s statistical authority announced Wednesday.
Chicken meat production totaled 2.3 million tons in 2023, while turkey meat production dropped 11.3% to 47,575 tons, a Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat) report said.
The figure for slaughtered chicken was 1.27 million units,down 5.7% over the same period, the institute noted.
Hen egg production in Türkiye totaled 20.6 billion units, up 4.2% year-on-year during January-December.
