43rd International Inegol Furniture Fair will contribute to furniture exports

Yavuz Ugurdag, Chairman of the Executive Board of MODEF Fairs, said, “In recent years, we have been increasing our exports to the Far East, America and Africa with fair organizations. This fair will significantly increase Turkey’s furniture exports.”

Held for the 43rd time this year in Bursa’s Inegol district, the International Inegol Furniture Fair will contribute to the export of the Turkish furniture industry.

Turkey’s major furniture manufacturers are exhibiting their latest collections at the fair held at the MODEF Fair Center in the district, where visitors from 90 countries come.

Bedroom sets with original designs, sitting groups, tables and chairs attract great attention at the fair, where visitors from Middle Eastern countries participate more.

Ahmet Gulec, chairman of the Istanbul Furniture Paper and Forest Products Exporters Association, told the AA correspondent that people were longing for physical fairs due to the new type of coronavirus (Covid-19) outbreak.

Emphasizing that the return of physical fairs is important, Gulec said, “Presenting our products is important in terms of seeing the needs of our customers. We do virtual fairs, we do not stand idle, but thanks to these fairs, we get more people’s return.”

Underlining that the share of Turkish furniture in the world market is increasing day by day, Gulec said:

“Our furniture makers have prepared very well for this fair. People around the world have been closed to their homes, especially because of Covid-19. Our furniture makers have also created beautiful collections to make them happier in their homes. Furniture manufacturers do not stop anyway, this is evident from our export figures. After these fairs, we will organize the Istanbul Furniture Fair on 22-27 June. In the period of Covid-19, there is an opportunity for Turkey to enter the new procurement system in the world. The furniture industry has caught this gap very well. I hope we will continue to work, produce, export.”

“We increase our export figures with these fairs”

Inegol Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ITSO) and MODEF Fair Organization Chairman Yavuz Ugurdad said that they have signed an important organization for the Turkish furniture industry.

Explaining that the fair will make a great contribution to the Turkish furniture industry, Ugurdad said:

“We expect visitors from every province of Turkey and from 90 countries around the world. The organization we have made is one of the fairs that make a significant contribution to the Turkish furniture sector in terms of export, production and employment, especially in Inegol. We think that we will successfully complete the first furniture fair of 2021. We have visitors from Asia, Africa, Europe and America. We host more guests from our nearby geography, especially from the Middle East. We increase our export figures with these fairs.”

Ugurdag, stating that there are significant exports from Inegol, especially to Middle Eastern countries, said, “In recent years, we have been increasing our exports to the Far East, America and Africa with fair organizations. This fair will significantly increase Turkey’s furniture exports.”

“The order created by the guests will make a great contribution to the country’s economy”

Turkish Woodworking Tradesmen and Artisans Federation President Ali Riza Ercan emphasized that the International Inegol Furniture Fair is developing day by day.

Ercan noted that the visitor potential of the fair and the organization is also very good despite the epidemic.

Stating that the best return of fairs, which are publicity venues, is through exports, Ercan continued his words as follows:

“This fair is already organized to increase exports. I hope we will reach this fair to a wider audience in the future. Participants will come here from more countries. In an environment where people are bored spiritually due to the epidemic, such an organization will provide morale and motivation to furniture makers. In addition, the order created by guests from foreign countries will make a great contribution to the country’s economy.”

Ozcan Ayhan, Chairman of the Inegol Chamber of Carpenters and Furniture Manufacturers, explained that Inegol made its name known to the world thanks to these fairs, and added saying, “There are more than 4 thousand furniture manufacturers in the district, and we have around 60 thousand employees. We have exported furniture worth $554 million. We see the development of Inegol in furniture. We are extremely happy that our name is used frequently.”

The 43rd International Inegol Furniture Fair can be visited until April 9.
