Battery partnership from Turkiye and China

Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacir stated that they expect Togg to implement the battery investment with Farasis Energy as quickly as possible and said: “Our wish is for many investors to choose Turkiye in the coming period and to quickly increase our battery production capacity in Turkiye to a much higher level.”

Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacir visited the facilities of battery manufacturer Farasis Energy in Zhenjiang, China.

Reminding that Siro Silk Road Clean Energy Storage Technologies will be established in Gemlik to develop energy storage solutions in partnership with Togg and Farasis Energy, Kacir stated that they expect Farasis and Togg to implement the Siro investment as quickly as possible. Kacir stated that during this visit, they had the opportunity to be informed about both current production capabilities and the latest developments in battery technology.

Pointing out that, as the Ministry, they attach great importance to battery investments in Turkiye, Kacir said, “In order for Turkiye to become a production center for electric vehicles, it is very important for it to be a center for battery production. With this understanding, we see the Siro investment, which will be realized in partnership with Togg and Farasis, as very important.”

Kacir stated that electric vehicles will gradually become longer-range and much more user-friendly, and said:

“The share of electric vehicles in the total automobile market will continue to increase day by day. We think that not only Farasis, but also different players in this sector will take steps to invest in Turkiye in the coming period. Our wish is for many investors like Farasis to choose Turkiye in the coming period and to rapidly increase our battery production capacity in Turkiye to a much higher level. The battery plays a very important role, especially in renewable energy, wind and solar power plants, when connecting the electricity produced in these power plants to the grid. We aim to create approximately 5 gigawatts of additional wind and solar capacity in Turkiye every year in the coming period. In this sense, the development and production of battery solutions in Turkiye will also be very meaningful.”
