CBRT: Deposits of the banking sector increased to ₺13 trillion 717.6 billion

Total deposits of the banking sector increased by ₺25.9 billion in the week ending September 29, reaching ₺13 trillion 717.6 billion.

Weekly money and bank statistics were published by the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkiye (CBRT).

Accordingly, total deposits in the banking sector (including interbank) increased by ₺25 billion 898 million 971 thousand in the week ending September 29, reaching ₺13 trillion 717 billion 575 million 226 thousand.

In the same period, TL deposits in banks increased by 0.53% to ₺7 trillion 809 billion 926 million 324 thousand, and foreign currency (FX) deposits decreased by 0.67% to ₺5 trillion 317 billion 686 million 940 thousand.

While total FX deposits in banks amounted to $204 billion 736 million last week, $172 billion 38 million of this amount was collected in the accounts of domestic residents.

Considering the data adjusted for parity effect, there was a decrease of $2 billion 421 million in the total FX deposits of domestic residents as of September 29.

Installment commercial loan amount increased

Consumer loans in deposit banks increased by 0.56% last week and reached ₺1 trillion 365 billion 23 million 912 thousand. In the same period, commercial installment loans increased by 1.04% to ₺1 trillion 133 billion 209 million 649 thousand, and credit card balances increased by 2.78% to ₺1 trillion 291 billion 963 million 991 thousand.

Of the consumer loans in deposit banks, ₺402 billion 544 million 178 thousand consisted of housing, ₺67 billion 367 million 219 thousand from vehicle loans and ₺895 billion 112 million 515 thousand from other loans.

The total credit volume of the banking sector, including the CBRT, increased by ₺95 billion 35 million 586 thousand in the week ending September 29, reaching ₺10 trillion 258 billion 210 million 982 thousand. Total loan volume increased by 56.12% compared to the same period last year.
