
Chicken meat production in Turkey increased by 13.4% in February compared to the same month of the previous year and reached 180 thousand 53 tons, chicken egg production increased by 0.2% to 1.56 billion units.

Accordingly, 180 thousand 53 tons of chicken meat was produced in February. While production increased by 13.4% compared to the previous year, it decreased by 9.7% on a monthly basis.
In February, 1 billion 555 million 418 thousand chicken eggs were produced in Turkey. While an increase of 0.2% was observed on an annual basis, a decrease of 7% was recorded on a monthly basis.
In February, 102 million 358 thousand chickens were slaughtered. The number of slaughtered chickens increased by 15.3% compared to February 2021.
During this period, 3 thousand 644 tons of turkey meat was produced, with an annual increase of 5.2%.
In the January-February period, the number of slaughtered chickens increased by 15.5%, turkey meat production increased by 15.2%, chicken meat production increased by 14.3% compared to the same period of the previous year, while chicken egg production decreased by 0.7%.
