International Agricultural Business Forum was held in Baku with the participation of Turkish companies

“International Agricultural Business Forum” was held in Azerbaijan with the participation of Turkish companies. Officials from public and private organizations attended the opening of the forum organized by the Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises and Clubs Association (KOBSKA) and supported by Ziraat Bank Azerbaijan.

In his speech at the opening of the event, TDT Deputy Secretary General Omer Kocaman stated that TDT countries decided to increase their cooperation in the field of agriculture and energy.

Kocaman stated that world conditions have changed and agriculture and energy have become priorities and said, “We see that there is serious cooperation potential in the agricultural sector in CSA member states, but unfortunately we have not been able to realize this potential so far. We are working to realize this potential. We gave priority to agriculture in both the Turkish World 2040 Vision and the 2023-2026 Strategy Plan.”

Anar Caferov, Director of the Agricultural Innovation Center of the Ministry of Agriculture of Azerbaijan, touched upon the reforms in the agricultural sector in his country in his speech.

Caferov reported that production and exports increased in Azerbaijan with the application of innovative technologies in agriculture.

Explaining the cooperation between Turkiye and Azerbaijan in the field of agriculture, Caferov said, “Turkiye and Azerbaijan can achieve stronger production by combining their power and using modern technologies.”

Ziraat Bank Azerbaijan General Manager Dr. Selcuk Demir said that the importance of agriculture, which is the most strategic sector for countries, is increasing day by day.

Demir said, “If we want to be an important actor in agriculture, we must attach great importance to the technological development of agriculture and agricultural mechanization.”

Touching on the relationship of financial institutions with the agricultural sector, Demir said, “Ziraat Bank is an important bank that supports the agricultural sector in Turkiye. As Ziraat Bank Azerbaijan, we started to serve with this mission here since the end of 2014 and we are taking firm steps forward.”

Demir touched upon the importance of financing agricultural investments and said, “Financing agricultural investments places responsibility on us for our future. We will mobilize our means for the development of Azerbaijan’s agricultural sector.”

The forum, which also featured an exhibition where participating companies introduced their products, continued with panels and bilateral meetings of business people.
