Hotels in Cappadocia enter the holiday with 98 percent occupancy

Cappadocia, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site with its fairy chimneys, underground cities, rock-carved historical churches, chapels, and monasteries, will be flooded with domestic guests during the holiday.

In the region where reservation requests started days ago, interest is also very high in tour organizations conducted with hot air balloons, off-road vehicles, and horses.

According to reservations, especially from the second day of the holiday, the intensity will reach its peak in the region.

Özay Onur, President of the Nevşehir Tourist Guides Association (NERO), told AA correspondent that the activity in Cappadocia, which has increased with the start of the 9-day holiday, will intensify even more during the weekdays.

“Cappadocia is happy” Onur, expressing satisfaction with the interest shown by domestic tourists to Cappadocia during the holiday, continued as follows:

“The occupancy rate of hotels is currently 98 percent during the holiday. Figuratively speaking, if you drop a needle in Cappadocia, it won’t touch the ground. The extension of the holiday to 9 days has a significant impact on this situation, and we thank our government officials. The tourism season in Cappadocia usually starts on March 15th and lasts until November. However, the intensity started early due to the holiday. Our tours are also in high demand. Cappadocia is happy. There aren’t many alternatives to Cappadocia. It is the first place that comes to mind when it comes to culture, nature, and history. Hotel occupancy rates are high during the holiday. Cappadocia’s recognition is at a high level worldwide. That’s why we see a high influx of foreign tourists.”

Tour operator Mehmet Dinler also stated that they observed reservation intensity days before the holiday in accommodation facilities within their company and that the holiday pleased the region’s tourism professionals.

Dinler, stating that holidaymakers choosing the region will have the opportunity to spend enjoyable time with alternative activities, conveyed the following:

“With the extension of the Ramadan holiday to 9 days, we saw an increase in demand in the domestic market, and this was reflected in reservations. Our guests from domestic regions generally prefer 2 to 4-night stays. Cappadocia is ready to welcome our vacationers with its unique beauty. Our last rooms are still available. Those who want to come to Cappadocia should not miss the last rooms.”
