According to the information compiled from the data of the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TIM), the export of companies from Istanbul increased by 3.3% last month compared to the same period of 2021 and reached $6 billion 958 million 509 thousand.
While the industrial sector achieved $13 billion 627 million of exports in July, companies from Istanbul realized $6 billion 59 million 233 thousand of this export. Thus, companies from Istanbul had a share of 44.5% in the export of industrial products in the said period.
In July, chemical substances and products exported from Istanbul reached $1 billion 197 million, ready-made clothing and apparel $1 billion 115 million, steel industry $726 million 920 thousand, automotive industry $544 million 119 thousand, ferrous and non-ferrous metals $535 million 204 thousand, electricity and electronics $507 million 196 thousand, jewelry sector $328 million 565 thousand, textiles and raw materials $317 million 403 thousand, machinery and accessories $227 million 251 thousand, cement, glass, ceramics and soil products $199 million 535 thousand, air conditioning industry $178 million 184 thousand, leather and leather products $113 million 29 thousand, The carpet industry exported $37 million 191 thousand, ship yachts and services $24 million 268 thousand and other industrial products $7 million 363 thousand.
14 provinces with more than $100 million in exports of industrial products
After Istanbul, the second province with the highest industrial exports in July; Kocaeli with $1 billion 741 million.
Bursa is in third place with $939.6 million after Kocaeli, while Izmir exports $764.3 million, Ankara $746.8 million, Gaziantep $407.7 million and Denizli $287.8 million.
Sakarya realized an industrial export of $266.2 million, Manisa $265 million and Hatay $234.1 million.
In the same period, $188.8 million of industrial products were exported from Konya, $173.4 million from Kayseri, $168.9 million from Adana and $104.3 million from Tekirdag.
Thus, over $100 million in exports of industrial products was achieved in 14 provinces of Turkiye last month.
Germany and the USA are at the top
Exports were made to 210 points of the world last month from Istanbul, where 44.5% of Turkiye’s industrial exports are carried out.
Looking at the countries to which Istanbul exports the most, Germany and the USA are at the top.
The biggest export from Istanbul was to Germany with $615 million 587 thousand. Germany was followed by the USA with $422 million 714 thousand, the United Kingdom with $399 million 721 thousand, the Russian Federation with $291 million 535 thousand and Italy with $279 million 562 thousand.
