MotionWorks, which develops video and advertising infrastructures, received an investment of $300 thousand from APY Ventures

MotionWorks is an information technology company. Thanks to the video and advertising infrastructures it has developed specifically for digital TV and supported by artificial intelligence, it takes the services offered by TV channels and digital platforms to their viewers and advertisers to a higher level.

MotionWorks, which was founded in 2023 by four founding partners Alihan Iplik, Tankut Akgul, Samet Ozcan and Gokturk Tanyeri, who have more than 10 years of experience in video and advertising technologies, announced that it has received an investment of $300 thousand from the APY Ventures Bilisim Vadisi Venture Capital Fund.

  • The company will primarily use this investment for its structuring in the Turkish market.

Alihan Iplik, co-founder of MotionWorks, who made statements on the subject, said;

“In recent years, TV content has been consumed entirely over the internet, along with live or replays, on different devices such as phones, smart TVs and game consoles. For the TV ecosystem with its own dynamics, the existing video and advertising infrastructures in the market fail to provide the required experience. Global advertising technology companies designed to serve the entire internet ecosystem do not meet the expectations of digital platforms. In addition, technology companies that dominate the market, operate in a wide range from search engine services to advertising services and video content platforms and have become a global monopoly, are in the position of serious competitors to TV.

When this is the case, broadcasters and digital platforms all over the world are looking for alternative technologies that will meet their own expectations and work in harmony with them. Considering all these situations while establishing MotionWorks, we developed a product specially designed for digital TV. While doing this, we designed both the technologies that provide the video infrastructure and the technologies that provide the advertising infrastructure, considering the future of TV, so that they work in end-to-end harmony. In this way, we have introduced many advanced features, which are the first in the world in their field, without being subject to any limitations.”

Finally, APY Ventures Manager Mustafa Keceli said;

“In today’s world, users’ consumption of TV content over the internet has clearly revealed the need for advertising infrastructure in digital channels. In this respect, we think that the MotionWorks team, which has 10 years of experience in the field, and the product-market harmony achieved by the programmatic advertising infrastructure technology developed by this team, will first achieve local dominance and then gain a significant place in the global market.”

Let’s add that MotionWorks is currently serving TRT channels and TRT’s new digital platform, Tabi, and has started testing processes with some of the big platforms in Turkiye.
